Performance Machine launches a new feature for their online home, the PM garage. The PM Garage is a cool feature which allows riders to get a better glimpse of how the bike of their dreams could look like.
Now, we really hoped that the PM Garage would be a fully-interactive interface which would also offer real-time modifications on a digital version of the customized bike. Well, it’s not, at least not now, but it’s anyway a very good step towards a richer online experience for both existing and future customers.

So far, the PM Garage allows users to store and compare various parts for their bike or bikes. The service required registration, which is free, and offer the possibility to select one or multiple bikes from a predefined list, and even more, select one as the main bike. Users can also upload photos of their two-wheelers, for a more dreamy setting.

The looks of the garage can also be customized, as users are able to choose form several layouts. The Performance Machine website then makes suggestions for the best parts which fit on each motorcycle, helping the riders choose between the available options. Parts are easily added to the PM Garage with a click on the new “Add to PM Garage” and are instantly showed on the “shelf”.

From there, customers can choose to buy one or multiple items, print a list of the components and their specs and prices, or even email their selection to a friend. Performance Machine is also offering technical advice prior to ordering certain parts, such as brakes, for perfect fitment.

We can only hope that we’ll get to see the PM Garage transformed from this sophisticated, yet cool shopping cart into an interactive applet with preview and multiple options. We bet that it would increase sales, as knowing how cool the PM parts look, we know they’d look even more astonishing when actually displayed as “installed” on the bike. Victory and Harley-Davidson do it, and things are going quite wel…
