Perana Z-One was finally unveiled today at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show, with the full technical specification list finally given to the general public. The Z-One is the first joint production of the Milanese coachbuilder Zagato and the South African manufacturer Perana Performance Group and represents the latest descendant of the Zagato sports car family, as the two companies said in a press statement at the Geneva show.
In essence, the Z-One is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers a maximum power of 442 hp (330kW) and helps the vehicle sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in no less than 4 seconds. The Z-One accelerates from to 0 to 160 km/h in approximately 10 seconds, according to figures provided by the two manufacturers.
The front-engined 2-seater coupe incorporates a 6-speed manual transmission with ZF limited slip differentials as standard. The engine is fully compliant with Euro 4 emission regulation. The Z-One series is exclusively addressed to European markets, with only 999 cars to be built every year. Pricing for this particular model starts at 50,000 euros, without taxes.
"Reflecting this pure passion from this brand new sports car specialist, the proportion and volume of Z-one is even tighter than usual sports car styling, accentuated by couple of long and dynamic curves with keen edge which visually integrate some important design features like the air out-lets. Surfaces defined by those cutting edges are even more sculptured maintaining the modern Zagato line which we have been developing for a decade," the press release reads.
