The already-popular Passat CC is again brought into the spotlights by its parent manufacturer with the help of a new upgrade. No, we're not talking about new modifications brought to the way the car looks, but to a new option that turns the CC into a five-seater.
It apparently seems like some people complained that the original configuration, which only provide room for four people - two in the back, had reduced "utility". Although this might sound a bit kinky, Volkswagen tries to satisfy all its customers so it launched a separate option that allows a new rear bench to be fitted and thus provide room for one more passenger.
"The new rear bench fulfils all necessary safety aspects with its third head restraint and three-point seat belt at the centre position. In addition, the folding backrest is asymmetrically split, so that even larger objects can be transported effortlessly," Volkswagen explained in a press statement.
For those of you who are looking into ways to boost the aforementioned "utility" of the Passat CC (we really don't have to tell you what "utility" means... now do we?), the 3-seat reach bench system is already available in authorized dealerships, but only as an option priced at 100 Euros.
Otherwise, the Passat CC is offered with the same engine lineup that includes one diesel configuration and two gasoline units. The top version is the 3.6-liter V6 unit that develops 300 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. It hits sixty in 6.1 seconds and has a maximum speed of 155 mph (249 km/h).
