Pariss Is a Ludicrous Mode-Rivaling Electric Track Weapon from France

A little over three years ago, an unknown French company called Pariss was just another one of those one-time names that bring their bizarre creations to the Geneva Motor Show, only to disappear during the following months just as quickly and abruptly as they had appeared in the first place.
Only Pariss decided to deviate from the norm a little and came back this year with a new car and, most importantly, a new concept. The vehicle itself is very similar to the roadster shown back in 2013, only in the meantime it has grown a roof. That's not the only thing separating the new car from the one that marked the company's debut: it is also heavier, but more powerful at the same time.

When compared to Tesla's figures, for example, the Pariss appears quite feeble: it's got two electric motors (one for each axle) developing a joint 300 hp, a top speed of 125 mph (200 km/h) and a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint time of less than three seconds. That's what putting this kind of electric power on a 1,900-pound little car with all-wheel-drive does.

That "under three seconds" time is enough to get some attention from those interested in a small, quickly-accelerating car to take around a circuit. And that's the only place they'll be able to drive the Pariss (awful name, by the way, especially since the company comes from Lille) since it's not road-legal, but intended as a precision track-tool instead. However, it's going to have to be a very technical circuit, otherwise that 125 mph speed limit might prove an issue.

Pariss says the new vehicle will get a full presentation on April 27, and it will only build it in a limited production run of no more than 200 a year. The car is rumored to cost around $115,000, which isn't affordable by any standards. Still, if you're the type that enjoys track days and has a few other conventional vehicles to take there, this could prove a very enjoyable pastime while the Ferrari or McLaren is cooling its components. And you'll only be able to go for 40 minutes in full-attack mode before a recharge is necessary (five hours for a regular household socket plug), so you'd better bring something else to fill the dead times.

The company has released a short teasing video that shows the car in a red, white, and blue livery without giving too much away. Pariss won't just be throwing the sporty EV out in the world, but also organize performance driving schools for those who choose to buy the car. Details are still rather scarce, but we should know more on April 27 when the Pariss gets its official debut.
