Meet the Ghost. It is SpeedKore Performance Group's take on the 1970 Dodge Charger, and it comes to haunt the die-hard fans of muscle cars. The one-off automobile is so full of carbon fiber that you don't know where to look first.
Ghosts are supposed to be paranormal apparitions, look scary, and make strange noises. That is exactly what this half-a-century-old Dodge Charger is. "Former Charger," we should say, because custom shop and carbon fiber specialist SpeedKore Performance based in Wisconsin now calls it "Ghost" and lets everyone know that "the paranormal is real."

The model, painted in a ghostly shade of bright white, comes to break the firm’s run of stealthy-looking, dark-painted Chargers. It is a re-invented and revived vehicle, ready for the drag strip and street-legal, too.

To enhance the "scary" part, the car got a billet aluminum grille finished in Black Cherakote and LED headlights, while the SpeedKore carbon rear light panel is custom-made by SpeedKore.

Carbon fiber also covers the dashboard, the custom center console, which hosts the 2000-watt sound system, and the bucket seats are also made of… what else but carbon fiber?

It looks like a Charger, it sounds like a Charger, and it drives like a Charger. But not exactly one from the 1970s. It actually comes to redefine the American muscle. SpeedKore President Jim Kacmarcik calls it "the most advanced 1970 Charger in the world." Why would we believe him? Let's start from the top.

First of all, just about everything that is visible on this car is made of carbon fiber. The body and floor are built around a custom steel chassis, with a wider track and longer wheelbase than the stock Charger. It is bigger, but the use of carbon fiber translates to weight reduction, so we don't expect this vehicle to weigh more than the original.

And speaking of the original, long gone is the 426 Hemi V8 that the car rolled off the production line with. It is now set in motion by a 6.2-liter (370 cubic-inch) Hellcat V8, which should supposedly give more than it does under the hood of the 2024 Charger: 707 horsepower, steered to the rear axle via a Tremec six-speed manual transmission.

SpeekKore Performance Group came up with custom headers and an exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers, which bring along a soundtrack to match the looks and the new performance figures of the car.

A 14-point roll cage showed up for extra rigidity and safety. The model has been fitted with a double A-arms Detroit Speed suspension for better handling, Penske dual adjustable coilers at all corners, and Brembo brakes that provide better stopping power than stock.

The restomodded Dodge Charger rides on custom HRE 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch at the rear, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber. "Three-pedal heroes, this one is for you!" reads SpeedKore's post on Facebook.
