Panerai Adds Two More Watch Models to the Ferrari Scuderia Collection

In December last year, the launch of the new Ferrari California convertible was celebrated with a special edition "Ferrari California Flyback Chronograph" created by Italian watch company Officine Panerai. Now, the Ferrari Scuderia collection has been enriched with two more watches that would make any Ferrari fan proud: the Ferrari Chronograph Red Dial and the Ferrari Chronograph Yellow Dial.

According to Motor Authority, the chronographs share almost the same features with the exception that the Ferrari Chronograph Yellow Dial 45 mm replaces the signature Maranello House red in the colored elements of the dial and strap with the “Modena” yellow.

Having a a polished steel case with brushed steel edges, the watches come with two screw-down chronograph push pieces and a crown with rims, which is highly associated with the dashboard controls of Ferrari models. As a matter of fact, the watches have other features that link them to the Ferrari models. Such features include a tachometer scale for calculating average speeds, the Prancing Horse on the caseback, the winding crown and the dial. In order to remind of Ferrari interiors which most of the time feature leather seats, the watches have black calfskin leather for the straps and red alligator skin for the inner layer.

Nevertheless, the two new models of the Scuderia collection are different in both concept and look from those in the Granturismo series. Therefore, if you happen to be the owner of a piece from the Granturismo series, you shouldn't worry that the two new watches are a variation on the same theme because they aren't.

Quite obviously, if you choose to invest some money in any of the latest models of the Scuderia collection amid the global recession, you have to prepare between $8,000 - $10,000. But since they are made by Panerai and they are expected to be of the highest quality, you might just as well assume that it's worth paying the price... if you have a Ferrari in your garage certainly.
