One-Off Ferrari 599 GTB China Author Visits Ferrari

Lu Hao, one of the most important Chinese artists today and author of the one-off Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano China Limited Edition, recently payed a visit to the Ferrari headquarters, where he met Chairman Luca di Montezemolo. Furthermore, Lu Hao also visited the Galleria Ferrari, where he autographed the bodywork panel used to test the paint technique created for the special one-off supercar.

The panel was donated to the museum in September and is part of the Non Solo Rosse exhibition, devoted to the use of color in Ferrari’s production history.

The one-off model has been hand painted by artist Lu Hao to resemble Song Dynasty Ge Yao Kai-piece porcelain of the Song Dinasty.

It also has a Jade start button as well as a tachometer featuring “Xiao Zhuan” lettering, which is an ancient Chinese script (also featured in the 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE China Limited Edition).

The car was auctioned in Beijing last November for 1.2 million euro and the proceeds of the auction will be used to fund students of Tsinghua University’s Department of Automotive Engineering studying at the Politecnico di Milano University (Italy) and to undertake an internship at Ferrari’s factory.

“I feel extremely honored to be the first Chinese artist working with Ferrari,” said Lu Hao at the charity gala in November. “The creative inspiration for this unique model came from those elements of Chinese culture that have profound significance. This work embodies my understanding of the essences of Chinese culture and the Ferrari brand.”
