As fun and thrilling as it is, off-road riding comes with more dangers than what a motorcyclist has to face during a cross-town ride. Loose ground and uneven terrain covered in slippery mud or dead, wet leaves are only some of the traps which can cause big troubles.
And what's even worse is the fact that mishaps can happen at pretty much any speed. Some experienced off-road riders claim that the higher the speed, the better: the wheel passes very quickly over the low-grip area and regains traction instantly. This makes a lot of sense, obviously, but such riding manner should go hand in hand with extremely well-honed skills, as the higher speed leaves less time (therefore less space) for evasive maneuvers.
Well, the rider in this video was neither speeding nor riding in fear: he just lost control of his bike and crashed rather hard into a tree. Taking a better look at the event we might say he got away really well, as this crash could have have a far worse outcome.
