Nurburgring Names Grandstand after Sebastian Vettel

Being called “The Next Schumacher” is, no doubt about it, a great honor for any racing driver out there. And Sebastian Vettel knows it all too well, although the maturity by which he managed to win 3 Formula One races at only 21 years of age is simply astonishing. In addition to that nickname, however, Vettel will also be pleased to find out that Nurburgring officials have decided to name a grandstand after him.

As incredible as it may seem, the famous Nurburgring circuit will debut a Sebastian Vettel grandstand three weekends from now, during the 2009 German Grand Prix. And that's something that not even the great Schuamcher managed to accomplish in his successful 16-year career in Formula One.

German reports mention that the race organizers at Nurburgring – probably the only venue Formula One will come to in Germany, in the near future – are offering the German fans a “Sebastian Vettel” GP package. Apparently, this includes a free pass to the Sebastian Vettel grandstand (formerly known as simply the T6) for the entire duration of the grand prix weekend.

That is a big honor,” Vettel was quoted as saying by Cologne based newspaper Express.

Last year, after becoming the youngest Formula One driver to win a race, at Monza, Vettel's former school changed its name to honor the young German, as reported by the GMM news agency. It was the same win during last year's Italian Grand Prix that led the Trofeo Lorenzo Bandini officials to appoint him as the 13th driver to win the aforementioned award.
