No 6-Speed Manual Transmission for 2012 Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6

Nowadays manual gearboxes have become a thing of the past for performance machines and the 2012 Cadillac CTS will not make an exception.

The 2012 Cadillac 3.6L V6 CTS won’t have available a manual gearbox, not even on the optional list. The American automaker’s performance machines will be equipped with a six-speed auto transmission instead.

All the top versions of the CTS like the 2012 CTS-V coupe, sedan and wagon will be fitted with a manual gearbox, but otherwise, according to some rumors, the idea to fit a manual gearbox on the model was dropped due to the fact that it wasn’t selling pretty much.

For 2012 models, manual gearboxes are available also for the base model, the CTS 3.0-liter sedan. The CTS 3.6 L V6 features a 3.6 L V6 engine capable of developing 304 hp at 6,400 rpm with 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque at 5,200 rpm. The model features ABS, All Wheel Drive (AWD), Traction Control System and StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System as standard.

The Cadillac CTS-V features a gasoline 6.2 L V8 engine good for 556 hp at 6,100 rpm and a torque level of 551 lb-ft (747 Nm) at 3,800 rpm. The car has a six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive as well as independent suspension. The ABS, StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, Traction Control System and Locking Rear differential come as standard.
