Nissan has brought the Patrol into the 2024 model year. The legendary 4x4 boasts several improvements all around and is now on sale in Australia.
Mind you, the upgrades aren't game-changing, but they do make life onboard more pleasant. The addition of a cool box in the front row center console is part of the novelties. The Japanese auto marque has also given it a 10.1-inch high-def touchscreen display with wireless smartphone integration, new USB-A and USB-C ports, a DAB+ radio, iGO nav, an intelligent rearview mirror, and a six-speaker audio.

These are all standard on the base model's version, which is marketed as the 2024 Nissan Patrol Ti Down Under. This model is an eight-seater with electric adjustable front seats and leather-accented upholstery. The heated side mirrors, LED headlamps, DRLs, and front fog lamps, 18-inch alloys, intelligent key with remote entry, and a selection of safety features are also part of the offering.

The safety gizmos include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear-cross traffic alert, lane intervention, blind spot warning, blind spot intervention, lane departure warning, and parking sensors at both ends. Other highlights of the entry-level variant are the follow-me-home headlight function, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, tire pressure monitoring system, etc.

Picking up the seven-seater Ti-L flavor will get you all of the above and then some. For instance, the Infinity premium audio system is on deck, and the only added novelty. It also has a sunroof, privacy windows, heated and cooled front seats, an electric tailgate, a puddle illumination light, and memory function for the driver's seat, steering column, and side mirrors. The different bumper, unique grille, and roof rails round off the offering.

Both versions of the 2024 Nissan Patrol use the same engine. It is a 5.6-liter V8 that churns out 298 kW (405 ps/400 hp) at 5,800 rpm and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm. Everything is delivered to the intelligent four-wheel drive system through a seven-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control and manual mode. The model also has a rear limited-slip differential, a 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs) braked towing capacity, and a 14.4 l/100 km (16.3 US mpg) combined fuel consumption.

Curious how much the 2024 Nissan Patrol will set you back in Australia? That would be at least AU$87,900, which comes out to US$57,925 at today's exchange rates, for the entry-level Ti grade. Choosing the better-equipped Ti-L specification will bump the starting price to AU$100,600 (US$66,295). These are manufacturer-suggested retail prices that do not include the statutory charges, on-road costs, premium paint, and so on. The 2024 Patrol by Premcar, which builds on the Ti and features the same novelties while adding a few extras, comes from AU$104,160 (US$68,645).
