Just after releasing the R35 GT-R, Nissan declared war to owners who would allow tuning companies to play with the vehicle. The company even threatened with a warranty void, should the vehicle be touched by aftermarket developers.
However, the chastity belt is blown away if we are talking about motorsport incarnations of Godzilla. And if we add Nismo, Nissan’s tuning and racing arm to the equation, Nissan also sends blessings with the car.
Getting to the point, we’ll tell you that a new mutated version of the GT-R is scheduled to debut in January next year, at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Show. As you know, the event is one of the most fertile ones for tuners, so it is the perfect occasion for the introduction of such a vehicle.
We are talking about a track version of the car, which will use the GT-R RC (Racing Competition) and will come with specific motorsport goodies. The car will use an FIA-approved roll cage, an ultra-safe fuel tank with a fuel capacity of 120 liters, slick tires, a tweaked suspension and special safety equipment. The vehicle will also come with lightened components and air jacks.
The Nissan GT-R RC will be eligible for a number of production-class races and thus will be entered in multiple series from around the world.
Nissan hasn’t offered any information about the vehicle’s engine. We’d like to remind you that the stock incarnation of the 2011 Nissan GT-R comes with a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 unit that delivers 530 hp, so we’ll get at least this much.
