Nissan seems simply unstoppable when it comes to concept cars. The carmaker has just unveiled the fourth in the past two weeks. It is the Hyper Punk that will also be on display at the Japan Mobility Show, which is just a fancy name for the Japanese Auto Show.
Nissan started with the Hyper Urban concept at the beginning of October. The Hyper Adventure followed only one week later, and then the Hyper Tourer showed up. Now, it is the turn of the Hyper Punk to be in the spotlight.

The Nissan Hyper Punk is an electric compact crossover that comes with one of the strangest purposes ever heard in the auto industry: it is “tailored for content creators, influencers, artists,” Nissan claims.

When all carmakers go for the minimalist style, Nissan does the exact opposite. The body of the concept car is made up of multifaceted and polygonal surfaces, that remind us of the Geometry class back in school. It is finished in silver paint that shifts shades depending on the angle you look at it from and on the light source. The Japanese carmaker claims that the design represents the user’s desire for self-expression and breaking conventional wisdom.

With short overhangs that highlight the compact silhouette, the Hyper Punk rides on massive 23-inch wheels, and Nissan says those are good for city cruising as well as for off-roading. Stilettos would do just as good in the off-road.

The headlights and taillights sport the same polygonal shape and are integrated into the body surface.

Envisioned as a mobile creative studio, it sports a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system that allows users to charge their devices anytime, anywhere, access the intenet, links them to devices and creative equipment on the go or during local community events.

The cabin follows the origami style to mirror the Japanese design and culture, but also proposes a high-tech ambiance. The onboard cameras can capture the scenery around the vehicle and use artificial intelligence to convert it to manga-style scenery or graphic patterns, depending on the owner’s preferences. The image can be displayed on a three-screen display.

The Nissan Hyper Punk concept car is capable of detecting the driver’s mood through AI and headrest biosensors and automatically selects the right music and lighting in order to support their energy and creativity.

The Nissan Hyper Punk will be on display at the Japan Mobility Show on October 25. Before that happens, all the four electric concept cars that Nissan has unveiled in the last two weeks, the Hyper Punk, Hyper Adventure, Hyper Tourer, and Hyper Urban, will show up on the digital 3D billboard in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo.

Starting October 25, those who are interested in further exploring the concept cars, they will be available on the online game Fortnite under the name Electrify the World.
