Nissan is Expanding UK Dealer Network for LEAF

Nissan has announced its dealer network that will be supplying the 2011 LEAF electric vehicle. Delivery of the car should start in March 2011 in the UK. However, the chosen branches are fully capable of selling and servicing the new Nissan starting February 2011.

The dealers have been chosen to give the best possible coverage of the country, while still being committed to customer service. The 24 dealers involved will have fast charge devices installed, which will allow EV customers to charge their Nissan LEAF up to 80% capacity in 30 minutes. Thanks to the widespread network, over 90% of the UK population are no more than 50 miles from such a charger. A new sales specialist will be employed at every center and will act as the single point of contact between the dealership and electric vehicle customers.

Customers who have placed orders for a LEAF can now choose the dealer they want to pick up their car from. Once chosen, every customer will be contacted by their respective EVRM (EV Relationship Manager) and offered the opportunity to test drive the Nissan EV, after which they can officially place their order and specify the options they desire.

“The appointment of the Nissan EV network is another milestone in the launch of the Nissan LEAF here in the UK.  We are confident that this network of dealers will provide the best service for our customers who have already ordered a Nissan LEAF, and offer the best advice to those who are yet to take the plunge,” according to Paul Willcox, Managing Director of Nissan Motor (UK) Limited.
