The Nissan GT-R and the Dodge Charger Hellcat are separated by tons of aspects, from the cylinder count to the way in which they deliver their kicks. However, none of these bits matter when the two line up next to each other for a drag race.
Fortunately, the sprinting battle we have here took place at the drag strip, so the two velocity toys could make use of the prepped surface - Godzilla and the factory-blown Charger got together at the Mission Raceway Park in Canada.
Now, I'm not aware of the cars' tech state (think: if these had been taken down the aftermarket path or not), but we can estimate this based on their quarter-mile performance.
Speaking of which, the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which documents the battle, allows us to check out the complete brawl. However, for some reason, the Elapsed Time and trap speed of the Japanese supercar weren't shown, so we'll have to trust our eyes to figure out who went homw with the win.
Of course, this can be a bit tricky, since seeing who reaches the finish line first includes the reaction times of the drivers, unlike the said numbers (the clock doesn't start ticking until the vehicle gets off the line).
For the record, a Charger Hellcat using drag radials can play the quarter-mile game in 11 seconds flat. And it does look like the example we have here comes with drag-friendly tires at the back.
Regardless, if you fancy placing a bet, now would be a good time to pick sides in this fight.
PS: Please use the adventure we have here as an example. In other words, try to stay off the streets and head over to the drag strip when the racing urges happen to show up.
