To put a bit of excitement back into the 370Z, Nissan couldn't just make a hardcore version. They needed to pump adrenaline into the car, and they did so perfectly by racing the car against one of the spearheads of extreme sports, BASE jumping.
Expert BASE jumper Dace Barlia put on his fancy squirrel man suit and used the force of gravity to race the 350 horsepower sportscar down a mountain in the Swiss Alps.
During the jump, Barlia reached speeds of over 210 km/h (130 mph), but he couldn't match the Nismo…. because the race was semi-staged. But who cares, really, when you've got this cool a video.
"That was absolutely amazing, I could see Dave up above me and I just had to concentrate and get in the zone to beat him down. Afterwards we looked at the data we gathered from wearing the biometric harnesses, which monitor my biometric data, and I could see when I was totally focussed. While this is fun, it is serious business - it not only improves my performance but is invaluable in helping me prepare for my next race," Nismo Athlete Pyzera said.
