Round about late 2010 or so, people really started to notice Kia's work. The new Optima came out at that time and wowed everybody, followed in quick succession by equally bold cars. Recently though, the Koreans seem to have lost their creative spark, launching a totally average looking Forte sedan and minimal updates for the rest of its cars.
This concept not only proves Kia found its mojo, but also that it's likely to target a cool new niche: really small and cool crossovers for city slickers. MINI proved not only that people would buy such a thing, but also pay good money to have it customized with bright colors and LEd headlights.

There's a good chance that Kia might build its own Paceman, so we needed to take a closer look at the concept once it made its appearance at the Chicago Auto Show. The Niro's dimensions are 4,185mm length, 1,850mm width and 1,558mm height. It's powered by a combination of 160 PS 1.6-liter turbo with a 45 PS electric motor and Kia's hotly anticipated seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

Chiseled looks and awesome tech will get you places Kia, so better build the Niro fast!

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
