Nick Heidfeld Became a Father for the 3rd Time on Monday

Nick Heidfeld's time outside the cockpit of a Formula One car helped him enjoy his personal life more, as he switched from driving F1 cars at high speed to taking care of his pregnant fiancee Patricia. That all ended on Monday night, when Heidfeld became father for the third time.

According to a brief announcement made on his official website, the Mercedes GP tester is now the proud father of a baby boy named Justus. Although no further information on the weight or medical condition of the child were released, Heidfeld told his fans that all the members of his family are happy and well.

I am delighted to announce that my third child was born tonight. Our little son is called Justus. We are all well,” Heidfeld wrote on his personal website.

Nick and Patricia already have two kids, daughter Juni (4) and son Joda (2), with whom they live in Stafa, Switzerland.

However, Heidfeld won't be able to enjoy his time with his new son too much, as he is scheduled to begin testing for new Formula One tire supplier Pirelli from as early as today. After watching his fiancee deliver Justus, the Mercedes tester headed for Italy, where he is to conduct two days of testing on the Mugello circuit.

This will be the first time Pirelli will test their 2011 compound fitted on a Formula One car, namely Toyota's 2009 TF109 single-seater. Heidfeld will drive the car through the Mugello circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday, and is also scheduled to continue his development programme with Pirelli for the upcoming sessions at Jerez, Monza and Paul Ricard (in the weeks to come).
