Being launched in 2005, the Toyota Aygo received two facelifts, one in 2009 and the other in 2012. But that won’t cut it and a second-generation model is needed to make a stand in front of the competition.
The second-generation Toyota Aygo is currently being worked on, as these new patent images have surfaced the Internet via a Chinese website, hinting that the vehicle is almost ready and we might see it next year.
The new model comes with a completely remodeled front fascia, with thinner headlights and an ultra large trapezoidal grille, while at the back, the all-glass hatch has been replaced with a classic one, the taillights have been redesigned and the rear bumper accommodates an air diffuser - elements that might suggest a TRD Sportivo version.
Also, it looks like the front overhang is and the C-pillar are a bit bigger. The engine will mostly be a carryover with small modifications.
