You know why the European market Toyota Avensis isn’t as successful as its American Camry counterpart? Because it looks like a shoe, especially in its last third generation, which has been with us for about four years now.
Well, things might change soon because a new model is on its way, both in sedan and wagon shape. Speaking about the latter, our spy photographers intersected paths again with the camouflaged Avensis Tourer/Wagon. Regarding its red license plates, it could be the same one we saw las year in August.

Despite all these months, it looks like the model got no changes right under that eye-boggling wrap. The same shapes can be seen underneath it and the only changes can be noticed at the rims and maybe the rear lights.

Facelift or new model?

Well, we were saying the car has been on market since 2009 and it already received a facelift in 2011, so this has to be a whole new model. But then, you never know what tricks Toyota will perform here.

Look at the windows or its overall shape and lines you’ll see its the same car we have now, minus a new front end and a slightly restyled rear. So, it may go the same way the Camry did, by adopting just some new visuals, a slightly enhanced interior and some new mechanics and the automaker calling it an “advanced facelift that's almost like a whole new model” or something.

Whatever the case, we’re happy it won’t resemble that much of a vacuum cleaner. The new model is expected to pop out of its protective shell during this year and be offered as a 2016 model.
