Apparently the tie-up between GM and PSA Peugeot-Citroen goes even deeper, as the parties have just revealed additional information regarding the extent of their collaboration. As both manufacturers are having serious problems in Europe, they have just announced that the next generation of Vauxhall and Opel MPVs will be underpinned by PSA-sourced platforms.
The announcement came at a press conference held in Bruxelles, where GM Vice Chairman, Steve Grisky and PSA Chairman Philippe Varin gave further details. They said the collaborative effort distributes the responsibilities of each partner 'fairly and evenly'.

However, it seems that GM is not content with using any old PSA platform, and the French group will be required to develop new platforms for the B- and C-segment, which will underpin both MPVs and crossovers/SUVs.

Furthermore, the development of the upcoming B-segment MPV from PSA will, in fact, be done by GM. Expect to see the first models talked about here today make their debut some time in 2016, and if you think they will be/look exactly the same, bar the badge, you`re wrong, as officials have said that they will be "highly differentiated and fully consistent with their respective brand characteristics."
