It seems that Tesla is gearing up to electroshock the world, with the Californian automotive producer set to unveil an explosion of new models over the next few years.
We’ve talked about the Tesla Model X crossover and other projects before, but one of the most important released will be the next generation of the Roadster, which is set to arrive in 2014.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed to autocar that the new Roadster is set to debut in 2014, explaining that the story of the EV sports car will carry on even though the model hasn’t been profitable, thanks to the fact that it has raised awareness on Tesla and EVs in general.
The new Roadster will no longer use a Lotus Elise chassis and is expected to be underpinned by a shortened version of the platform developed for the Model S and its derivatives, among which we’ll also find a BMW 3-Series rival.
