This was bound to happen sooner or later, as it has been the case with pretty much every Mercedes-Benz launch in recent years, no matter how secretive the peeps from the Stuttgart PR and marketing division were.
The flagship of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222, namely the S 600 V222 (long-wheelbase only), has been leaked if we are to believe the following three brochure scans, which we found while browsing our favorite car forum on the Internet, GermanCarForum.
As it was somewhat expected, the new S 600 looks almost identical to a “poor man's” S-Class, with the only differences residing in the subtle details, such as a bit of extra chrome strips, exclusive wheels and obviously new badging.
According to the scans which you can check out bellow, under the hood is where the magic happens, because the new Mercedes-Benz S 600 will apparently return to being truthful about its name, as the twin-turbo V12 it sports no longer has 5,513 cc but 5,980 cc.
For the keen eye, that's the exact displacement that the recently-released S 65 AMG has, but the power and torque numbers are naturally different.
The new S 600 V222 will have a bit more power, with 530 hp instead of the 517 hp of the old V221, while the torque figures remain identical, with a more-than-enough 830 Nm (612 lb ft) of torque.
The medium fuel consumption, on the other hand, has been dramatically cut from 14.3 liters per 100 km (16.4 mpg) in the S 600 V221 to just 11.3 liters per 100 km (20.8 mpg).
