Mercedes-AMG fans are thrilled about tomorrow, when the Goodwood Festival of Speed will see the official debut of the new A45. However, this doesn't mean that the development cycle of the hot hatch is 100 percent completed. In fact, it's only normal for carmakers to polish the final details of their fresh arrivals after the official debut takes place and a prototype of the Mercedes-AMG A45 has been spotted doing its thing at the Nurburgrin this week.
The Mercedes-AMG A35 has taught us what to expect from the hot side of the fourth-generation A-Class, from the 305 hp output to the slightly spicy looks, the A45 will obviously dial things up to eleven.

Speaking of the exterior, Mercedes-AMG has already posted teasers for the A45 and the CLA45 on Facebook and you can check out the visual clues below.

The German automotive producer has already confirmed the output of the A45's two versions - as is the norm with all-out Affalterbach models these days, we'll get a base car and an S model. So while the first is set to offer 389 hp, the latter will allow the driver to play with 422 horsepower. So we can't wait to see the newcomer drag racing, among others.

The muscle will be sent to both axles thanks to a dual-clutch tranny. And despite the FWD-based tech side of the spicy compact, a Drift Mode will ensure that those who are into tail-happy sensations will get their kicks.

Sadly, the new Mercedes-AMG A45 won't be offered on the US market, since American buyers are not exactly compact car lovers. Then again, other models using this tech pack that will make it across the pond and, for instance, we're looking at the Mercedes-AMG GLB45 (here are some recent spyshots portraying the machine), a compact crossover mixing the said tech pack with seven seats.
