When you’re in Japan, you’ve got to act like the local. You can’t just launch a trailer and expect them to like your car, since they only understand manga and anime. So to promote the new A-Class in Japan, Mercedes is launching a short anime, about six minutes long, called “A-CLASS NEXT”.
From what we’ve been able to find so far, this is the trailer for an anime that will be launched together with the car, this Saturday, November 17. The anime is set in the not-to-distant Tokyo city and has three main protagonists who are for some reason motivated to catch somebody.

The anime features the A-Class with the Sports body kit that mimics the look of the upcoming A45 AMG, with only the exhaust letting us know it’s not the real AMG. In fact, there will also be a special edition launched in January 2013 called the A 180 SportsEDITION NEXT. Presumably, that’s a Japanese specific creation with a fresh paintjob, like Mercedes has been known to offer in the past.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
