New Ford Focus ST to Sell in North America, Asia

American manufacturer Ford has found a very interesting way of advertising its models prior to launch, ever since the huge hit that was the Fiesta release on the US market. Very transparent when it comes to the products it is working on, Ford releases, from time to time, bits and pieces of information about the soon-to-be models, just enough to keep our interest up.

The new Ford Focus entered the market not long ago, after it was teased, time and time again, so that consumers have had a pretty good idea of what the model is all about even before seeing it. The exact same thing Ford does for the souped-up version of the model, the ST, which will soon enter the market. And this time, not only the European market.

The details surrounding the new Focus ST are pretty much known, although no one can tell what the subtle differences of the model for the various markets will be. According to the automaker, the car that we'll see on the streets is the result of a very comprehensive development process. Ford's SVT team apparently readied no less than 60 prototypes of the new Focus in ST guise, which have and are being tested on roads and circuits across the world, in an attempt to make the car as "global" as possible.

To be powered by 2.0l EcoBoost engine which develops 250 horsepower, the ST will not be available only in Europe, but also in North America and parts of Asia. According to the word on the street, should the ST version of the Focus prove to be a hit on the North American market, an even more souped-up version, similar in performances to Europe's exciting RS, might be produced.
