Brabus Center Bottrop have shared with us details of a brand new project they've completed that is based on the Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe. This is like taking a gold Rolex watch and changing everything, so of course the outcome is as spectacular as it is expensive.
As the name "Brabus 850" suggests, this flagship coupe now delivers 850 PS, making it more powerful than a Ferrari F12 or a Lamborghini Aventador. But the increased output was not achieved simply by installing a new exhaust system and adding more turbo boost, Brabus took the 5.5-liter V8 engine completely apart and changed most of the components.

The block now displaces closer to 6 liters (5,912cc to be precise), while opening the hood means you are struck by how much carbon fiber there is. And in case you're wondering, that really is gold, used because it has excellent heat deflection properties.

Straight-line performance is a Brabus speciality, and the 850 Coupe manages to reach 100 km/h in only 3.5 seconds while claiming a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). but those numbers only tell half the story, as with 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm, you can probably do a burnout in any of the first three gears.

We first saw the Brabus 850 S63 Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, but this latest project is different from a cosmetic point of view. More discrete Monoblock silver wheels have been used in conjunction with dark carbon inserts. The body kit consists of front spoiler, side vents, side skirts, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler. A new exhaust system in the typical Brabus style is a nice finishing touch. The interior, meanwhile, is a wash of black and beige leather while no expense has been spared to ensure the owner is comfortable.

For the select few who can afford it, the Brabus 850 Coupe is a dream long distance cruiser with the gold-plated heart of a brute. But we just like it because it's black!
