New BP Logo Contest Is On

Amidst millions of gallons of oil spilling constantly into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, billions of dollars lost and a constant push to find a solution to the problem, logo-specialist website (yes, there is such a thing) logomyway.com has launched a very unlikely contest.

With a 200 dollar prize on the table for the most descriptive and to the point entry, each of the participants must submit their own interpretation of the BP logo, designed to communicate at least one of the following three BP traits: oil spill disaster – toxic, death of wildlife and incompetence.

So far, the contest has caught the attention of 65 people, who have submitted their entries portraying BP as anything from a devil to a pottle of crude oil.

"I cant tell you how frustrated and upset we are about BP and how they are handling this oil disaster. Before this eruption of oil they had 17 violations. It's obvious this could have been prevented," the website administrators' say about the reasons which made them launch the competition.

"This is probably the biggest environmental disaster we have ever faced in this country. I think the creative designers at LMW should update the BP logo with a more suitable design."

The contest runs for another 11 days. When time's up, the general public will vote on the winner.

To remind you about the BP oil spill disaster, 29.5 million gallons of oil are believed to have found their way into the water so far. The White House describes the spill as the worst environmental disaster in the history of the US and fears it will keep on getting worse until August, when BP estimates the drilling of the two relief wells, expected to solve the problem, will be completed.
