Offering new levels of luxury and a refreshed exterior, the new Bentley Flying Spur is the ideal car for the ultimate Chinese businessman and it will strut its stuff today at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, together with the Continental GT Speed, Bentley’s fastest production model ever and the ultra-high luxury Mulsanne.
“China is a key market for Bentley and we are enjoying great sales success and growing customer interest. To continue to achieve these results, we have a significant expansion plan in place. This starts with the new Flying Spur, previously our best-selling model and we expect 60 per cent of the new Flying Spur sales to be delivered to customers in China," said Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive.

The 2014 Bentley Flying Spur is essentially a redesigned version of the outgoing Continental Flying Spur and has a 50 kg (110 pounds) lighter chassis, superior. Despite the chassis being stiffer, the ride will be much softer than anything Bentley has been able to offer.

That's because the new Flying Spur will have a revised suspension with softer spring rates (by 1% front and 13% rear). It's also more powerful, producing no less than 616hp (625PS) and 800Nm (590 lb-ft).

With a new look and more power than ever, the Flying Spur is sure to be very successful in China when it goes on sale later this year. Bentley saw its sales grow 23% last year in the county and that expects even more new customers as the sales network grows by an additional 12 new dealer locations are opening by May this year, with plans for 45 dealerships covering all key cities in Greater China to be in place by 2015.
