Scheduled to be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show later this year, the Lexus RC will eventually make us build a time machine. Really now, the wait is getting unbearable by the week! Especially with all sorts of rumors flying around and claiming that the RC F will be getting some 455 HP under the bonnet.
Yep, the range-topping version of the RC will be pumping 455 HP from its 5.0-liter V8 engine, and while this is just a report (for now), we have a feeling Lexus is about to release a heck of a BMW M4 competitor. Especially with its rumored carbon fiber body parts, an eight-speed transmission and “LFA-inspired handling”.
And that’s not all, the brand new RC F will also come with with Sachs monotube shock absorbers, special control-arm rear suspension, uprated coil springs and stabilizers a specially tuned Lexus Dynamic Handling system and 19-inch BBS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, and a high-performance Brembo brake system. Pricing is rumored to start at $100,000.
As for the regular RC, Motor Trend says it will become available with a choice of three engines - turbocharged 2.0-liter, hybrid 2.5-liter, and 3.5-liter V6 - and a price tag starting at around $40,000.
