Ford is making efforts to bring its US and European ranges closer and the company has just used the Geneva Motor Show to make a new step down this road. We are talking about the new 2013 Kuga, with the European market crossover now looking almost the same as the US Escape.
The vehicle is being launched with a 2.0-liter TDCi diesel unit that comes in two versions, offering 140 or 163 hp. Later on, customer will also be able to opt for a 1.6-liter Ecoboost turbocharged petrol unit that should deliver around 175 hp. The unit sends its power to the road using an updated all-wheel drive system, which is assisted by a Torque Vectoring Control system.

The interior is now more refined and offers more features, while also offering more practicality, as the luggage space has been increased by 82 liters and the rear seats can be folded using a special button.

"Innovative technologies like the hands-free automatic tailgate clearly set new Kuga apart from its competitors," said Ford of Europe's chairman and CEO, Stephen Odell. "But more importantly they provide customers with everyday advantages. All-new Kuga is more spacious, dynamic and capable than the current model, which continues to be popular with our European customers."

The 2013 Ford Kuga is scheduler to reach showrooms across Europe later this year.
