No, this is not the same car as the facelift-bearing A4 with plastic wheelarch extenders you saw yesterday, it’s the all-new A6 Allroad, based on the Avant that made its debut last year. What’s more, this rugged-looking wagon is not present in Detroit, as it’s debut came all the way from Germany and hit the internet.
The new A6 Allroad measures 4.94 meters (16.21 ft) in length, 1.90 meters (6.23 ft) in with and 1.47 meters (4.82 ft) in height, making it insignificantly bigger in every way than the Avant. But the most important change is that it sits 60mm (2.36 in) higher off the ground than that of the regular A6 Avant. On this front, probably the coolest feature is that it comes as standard with adaptive air suspension that lowers the car by 15 mm at high speed or can raise it by 35 mm when the going gets tougher.

The engine range consists of the 3.0-liter TFSI V6 with 310 hp and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque, and three versions of the 3.0 TDI diesel with either 204 hp, 245 hp or 313 hp.
