This goes without saying, but car racing isn't for anyone. They might be OK with watching cars go round a track from the safety of their couch and the thousands of miles between their home and the actual circuit, but once that distance drops to about a few inches, you might get a different reaction.
If we're honest, even those who do enjoy a spin on the track now and then can have difficulties sitting in the passenger seat, especially if we don't particularly trust the person behind the wheel. And, frankly, if I saw them holding the steering wheel like that, I would probably want to go home too.

Wives and girlfriends, also known as WAGs, will usually not share this passion for cars that go fast, so whenever the chance of taking part in a track day presents itself, it's best to try and convince them to stay at home. However, you should be careful how you choose your words or your argument might provoke the opposite reaction. She'll become suspicious and before you know it, you're renting helmets for two.

If that happens, at least make sure you get her to film everything. That's what this guy did, and we're forever thankful. This guy has the nerves of a Kung Fu master if he can ignore his girlfriend's rants and focus on driving at the same time. It's not like there's that much driving going on, but they are going faster than on normal roads and the gaps between the cars are dangerously small at times.

That's one aspect that doesn't escape the careful eye of his girlfriend so, between the many exasperated grunts (which remind us of Tom Hardy's performance in Mad Max) she uses to express her dissatisfaction to everything around her, she repeatedly asks the driver to either go slow or stay away from other cars. Clearly, this was her first time on a racing track. Clearly, it was also her last.

Taking your not-into-motorsport WAG to the track can be one of the most fun ways to test the strength of your relationship. It can also turn a track day into a track five minutes, as she'll drop the line "take me home now or it's over," so use this method at your own discretion. But in the meantime, watch somebody else do it and have a laugh.
