We admit to being a little very skeptical towards video game-based movies, and video games based on movies, so we won’t get our hopes up for the Need for Speed movie. Why? Well, why would we be excited about a movie based on a mediocre gaming franchise (last 5 years) which does not have a clear direction, no characters, no real story and not real atmosphere to convey.
The only thing this movie will have in common with the game is the name. Because of this, movie director Scott Waugh, as well as script writers George and John Gatins, will be able to do whatever they want, as long as it contains fast and exotic cars and fast driving scenes. It will most likely be a superficial movie which will please everybody except real car enthusiasts.

We are sure that the story will take a back seat (despite the fact that most of the cars featured in the movie won’t have one) and the movie will be mindless and boring and mediocre at best. We hope we’re wrong, but judging by the kinds of movies released in recent years, and the fact that Disney is in charge of the movie, our expectations are understandably low.
