After the sizzling hot Claudio Castiglioni Special Edition Rivale 800 machine we showed you today, with killer photos from its creators, Tecnoart Sersan, we’ve got another piece of good news for the MV Agusta fans in California: the Italian manufacturer is once more licensed to sell motorcycles in the Golden State, after a 12-day hiatus and fears that it could be prolonged to months.
Earlier this month we reported that the California Department of Motor Vehicles had included MV Agusta on a ”persona non grata” list of manufacturers who were no longer allowed to sell new motorcycles in California. The commercial license had been suspended and no dealer was allowed to sell new bikes.

While the first causes for such an interdiction were linked to paperwork, some rumors pointed out at the many issues some bike makers encountered with the local CARB (California Air Resources Board) and its exceedingly strict regulations.

MV Agusta’s license expired in July, 2013 and it looks like some of the guys involved with paperwork at MV Agusta had no idea that a special new filing was needed with the State of California, besides the federal filing. Since no state authority is exactly famous for its willingness to correct such errors, the outcome was kind of predictable, accompanied by speculations as to how long would it take until MV Agusta sorts things out and puts everything back in order for license renewal.

Some fellows who seemed more knowledgeable in relation to the way the DMV works feared that MV Agusta could need months to solve the problem, but their somber predictions turned out a much brighter resolve. All in all, the dealers of the Varese-based manufacturer are once more allowed to sell all the models.

As the (official) summer is days away, the motorcycle sales are expected to grow. In 2013, MV Agusta’s business has a significant growth, with sales over 20 percent higher than the figures of 2012, and seemingly having found a more successful recipe of delivering bikes with different character based on the same platform.
