Mustang Boss 302 to Star at the Woodward Dream Cruise

The most recent interpretation of Ford's iconic Mustang, the 2012 Boss 302, will make its public debut at the Woodward Dream Cruise “the world’s largest one-day celebration of classic car culture.” An estimated 1.5 million visitors will get the chance to see the new Boss among 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom collector and special-interest vehicles.

“We’re celebrating our entire Mustang lineup with this display,” said Fritz Wilke, Mustang brand manager. “We are letting enthusiasts get up close to learn about and experience our newest Mustangs and see the heritage of Mustangs at the same time.”

The Mustang Boss 302 will be present in the Mustang Garage on 9 Mile Road this Saturday, together with a display by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (F-150 SVT Raptor and Shelby GT500). Current models present will be the new Fiesta and Super Duty, as well as the Taurus and Fusion.

Roush Performance and Shelby Automobiles will be displaying alongside Ford and other iconic vehicles like the Ford’s monster truck, Blue Thunder. Aside for the opportunity to see the cars, the visitors will be given Mustang Boss 302 T-shirts and Mustang Bears.

Revealed by Ford earlier this week, the Boss 302 comes as an even more exclusive version of the Mustang GT, packing the same 5.0l V8 engine, but with a touch more power: 440 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque.

The vehicle rides 11 millimeters lower at the front and 1 millimeter lower at the rear compared to the GT version. The stability and handling of the model is further enhanced by the adjustable shocks and struts.
