Move About Successfully Shares Think City

Because of their relative low operating costs, electric vehicles are becoming more and more cars of choice for car sharing operators around the world. In Europe, as one of the first such vehicles available for the masses, the Think City is quickly catching the eye of the consumers of such services.

Available currently in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, the Move About Think City just signed up its 1000th member. The 79 Cities used by the company make for the biggest car sharing fleet in Europe available today. To date, some 10,000 such vehicles were sold to fleet operators and individuals worldwide.

“This programme is a great example of intelligent, efficient and flexible personal mobility,' said Michael Lock, Think chief marketing officer.

“It’s an approach very much consistent with our philosophy to provide 21st century urban mobility solutions. We look forward to working in partnership with Move About as the scheme continues to expand in other major cities around Europe.”

The Think can achieve a top speed of only 100 km/hour (62 mph) and sprints from naught to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds. During summer and with the heater off, Think can travel in between 170 km (105 miles) and 203 km (126 miles). The car can be plugged in a standard home outlet ((220V in Europe).

“The number of cars only tells half the story” added Michael Eimstad, Move About manager. “The car sharing system enables many people to share relatively few cars. This is a much smarter way to use resources, and means that many more people will be able to drive electric cars”
