MotoGP 10/11 for Playstation 3 Released

As the 2011 MotoGP Championship season debuts today with the first practice at Losail circuit in Qatar, video games developer Capcom announced that MotoGP 10/11 has already began being shipped to US retailers, while also releasing a trailer to arouse interest for the product. While a Microsoft Xbox 360 version will be offered in other markets, North American customers will only get the Sony Playstation 3 version of the game.

Developed by Monumental Games, MotoGP 10/11 offers players an all-new handling system and improved physics from previous iterations. With complete rider information, stats and tracks from the 2010 season included on the retail disk, players will also be able to download an update for the 2011 season.

Unlike last year’s game, all of the real riders from the MotoGP, Moto2 and 125cc classes will be available to play from the start. As a reminder, in MotoGP 09/10 players had to start with the 125cc class and work their way up before they could access the premier class stars such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner.

In addition, MotoGP 10/11 comes with customizable rider assist, and advanced rider controls such as wheelies, managing weight transfer on the bike, control of the front brakes and tucking in. Capcom says assists can be turned off according to the rider’s preference.

The Career Mode includes co-operative gameplay for the first time in the series. Through local splitscreen gameplay, players can team up to combine their skills on the track helping the team finance staffers and bike parts to earn a top pole position.

Also returning to the series is the online mode. With up to 20-players competing in Championship Mode, they can take an upgraded bike from career mode to online and see how they rank against the world’s fastest riders. With spectator mode, riders can scope out the competition while waiting for a new race to start.

MotoGP 10/11 for PS3 retails for $39.99 and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.
