With each season that passes, the latest Ford Mustang GT, with its beefed-up Gen III Coyote V8 and its optional ten-speed automatic, seems to expand its fan base. As such, it's become quite common to see owners of such ponies installing what can be described as bolt-on mods and engaging in fierce racing battles.
Case in point with the 'Stang we have here, which is a 2019 model year GT fitted with the said 10R80 torque converter hardware. And while Can I Be Frank, the YouTube label behind the racing clip below, doesn't mention the exact aftermarket goodies fitted to the 5.0-liter V8 under the hood of the muscle toy, we are told this now sips on E85.
Now, during a recent night of racing, the driver of the Blue Oval monster had to choose his opponent wisely. Among others, the dynamic car meet attended by the Ford included a stock Dodge Challenger Hellcat, as well as an example of the Mopar coupe that was animated by the 392 (6.4L) HEMI.
Well, the enthusiast behind the wheel of the Mustang decided to take on the Hellcat as well as the 392, as you'll notice in the video. However, please don't use such a stunt as an example and stick to the drag strip (pun intended) whenever you're feeling competitive.
We're looking at rolling starts here, which are normally associated with such street shenanigans. And while not all the attempts to race were successful, a clear winner emerged for both velocity brawls - now would be a good time to place your bets.
As for which of the three machines won the aural side of the competition (admittedly, this is an apple-to-orange fight, since we're comparing stock cars against modded ones), the soundtrack of the video easily allows one to be the judge of this.
