Misha Design Introduces Mercedes SL Widebody

Misha Design, the company famous for producing aggressive body kits for sports cars such as the Porsche 911 or the BMW M3, turned it’s attention to the 2009 Mercedes SL. The drop-top poser now has a more aggressive body to give it street credentials.

This brand new kit adds a redesigned front bumper with larger, more aggressive looking air intakes that channel more air into the engine. The carbon fiber chin spoiler is also a nice feature, but it might get damaged with the car as low as it is.

Probably the coolest feature of the kit is the wider fenders that resembles that on a SL Black Series, as they give it a racing look. The vented hood is also a new design as it now has huge carbon fiber slats at the top where the stock chrome ones used to be.

The side skirts flow smoothly with the lines of the car and into the new wider fenders. At the back the bumper has a carbon fiber grill and a carbon fiber diffuser to help with the downforce. Misha opted to go for a subtle trunk spoiler (with the same color as the body) instead of a cheesy big spoiler.

This kit is a bolt-on for all 2009 and older models but you can also use it to convert a pre-2009 SL to the facelift with the aid of new headlights and center grill. Prices for the kit are not available right now. Considering previous Misha kit prices it will not be cheap, but given that an SL Black Series costs north of $300,000, we don’t expect too many complaints.
