After a great run throughout the 13 stages of the 2014 Dakar Rally, Joan “Nani” Roma claimed the top spot on the podium with his yellow MINI ALL4 Racing car, being followed on the next two steps by Stephane Peterhansel and Nasser Al-Attiyah, both with similar cars, for a perfect one-two-three podium.

This was the first time the Spaniard won the rally with a car, his previous win being achieved on bike when the event was still held in Africa, back in 2004. Despite winning just 2 stages, his brilliant driving and expert guidance provided by his co-driver, Michel Perin, meant that nothing could stand in their way.

"I'm so relieved and happy. It was my big goal to win the Dakar not only on a motorbike but also in a car. A dream came true for me and I want to thank everybody at X-raid and MINI for their great work! ," Roma said after the last stage.

"The MINI ALL4 Racing is a brilliant car and was extremely reliable and quick throughout the whole rally. It was fun to drive! Also a big thank you to my co-driver Michel Périn, who was a great navigator again! A great result for MINI, now it's time to celebrate!" he added.
