Only two days of the 2014 Dakar Rally passed and Stephane Peterhansel is already in the top spot overall in the 36th edition of the world famous motorsport event.
Racing like crazy behind the wheel of his #300 MINI ALL4 Racing and helped out by his trusted co-driver, Jean-Paul Cottret, the Monster Energy X-Raid Team finished the 433 km run of the second Dakar leg 28 seconds faster than the runner-up, Carlos Sainz.
“All I can say is congratulations to Stéphane Peterhansel and the Monster Energy X-raid Team. Today it became clear again how well-prepared the whole team is. The performance of the MINI ALL4 Racing was superb again. Now, I am keeping my fingers crossed for the challenges ahead, while I am confident that we will see more good results during the upcoming days,” said Jochen Goller, Senior Vice President MINI.
At the moment, there are 11 teams racing in the 2014 Dakar Rally using MINI ALL4 Racing models, all of them based on the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman.
