Between 1959 and 1966, J.J. Molenaar's Car Companies in Amersfoot assembled over 4,000 MINIs and this year, the British brand will be returning to the Netherlands to continue the production of their newest models.
In order to celebrate this return, the guys from VDL Nedcar (the company that will be building the MINIs) decided to restore one of the oldest Minis ever built. They found a 1959 one, built in the Netherlands which will be completely redone.

The team in charge of this ambitious project is made out of 5 workers that were hand-picked out of the 1,500 that are currently working at VDL Nedcar in Born. The team is complete, being made up of a bodywork builder, a welder, a painter, an engine specialist and a project manager.

The project should be done with by the end of the year and will set up for display in the same factory where new generation Dutch MINIs will be produced in the second half of 2014.
