After winning the Dakar Rally this year and claiming two other titles in 2013 and 2012, the Monster Energy X-raid team and MINI are prepared to continue the fight in other competitions too.
One of them is the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, a venue where the team was already successful, during the first event of the year that took place at Baja Russia in the middle of February. Back then four MINI ALL4 Racing cars proved their worth and took Vladimir Vasilyev (Russia) all the way up to the second place and Pole Martin Kaczmarski in fourth. All this was achieved on snow and ice, not at all the ‘familiar’ sand the cars are used to from Dakar.

Therefore, the team is confident that the 2014 Season will be successful too. Over the last few years, MINI started to reclaim some of its former glory in rallying, thanks to the ALL4 Racing model based on the Countryman. The performances they achieved also reflected in the sales of the mini-SUV, that is doing very well on all markets.

This year’s World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies will have 10 events on its schedule, including trips to Egypt, Hungary, Poland, Morocco and Portugal. The complete list is as follows:

14.02 – 16.02 Baja Russia (already done)
13.03 – 16.03 Baja Italy
03.04 – 04.04 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge
20.04 – 25.04 Cross-Country Rally Qatar
18.05 – 25.05 Pharaons Rally Egypt
18.07 – 20.07 Baja Aragon
14.08 – 17.08 Hungarian Baja
28.08 – 30.08 Baja Poland
03.10 – 09.10 Rally Morocco
30.10 – 02.11 Baja Portugal

This weekend, the Baja Italy event will take place, starting from the northeast of Italy and covering 608 km in total out of which 378 will be stage kilometers. MINI and the X-Raid team will have 2 cars in the competition, driven by Vladimir Vasilyev and Martin Kaczmarski.
