MINI will attempt to break yet another world record on Sunday, getting Dakar Rally driver and professional skier Guerlain Chicherit behind the wheel of one of their specially constructed MINI Monster Energy cars and sending him off on a ramp going for the longest car jump.
The current world record was set by none other than Tanner Foust, on May 30, 2011, with an incredible 332 feet (101.19 meters) run through the air. The attempt will be taking place in the scenic resort of Tignes, France, with the support of Toyo Tires.

“I have been a professional driver for 10 years now and I must say this is the first time I am so confident with my tires. When you drive fast in the Dakar race or when you make your car do incredible performances, you have to trust your tires 100-percent,” said Guerlain Chicherit.

Chicherit chose the location for his world record attempt, as he is a Tignes native. The Frenchman is also the 2009 FIA Rallye Raid champion and a four-time Freeride Skiing World Champion, being well accustomed to MINI vehicles, performing a sensational back flip with such a car back in February 2013 in his hometown.

The event will be broadcast on the Toyo Tires Facebook page, on Sunday.
