MINI Coupe Is a New Adventure Every Day

After endlessly teasing us with spyshots and specs, MINI finally showed us the Coupe in full today, revealing a stunning set of pics of the potent JCW version. The carmaker’s first two-seater has gained a youthful beat, while dropping some of its aggressive guise in favor of Cooper S trim in the first commercial video to be shown.

“Another Day. Another Adventure.” gives fans of the MINI brand the first visual impressions of the sporty two-seater’s innovative “three-box” design and the company has gone all out to impress us. We don’t know how they’ve pulled this off without getting a horde of spy photographers on their trail, but the reveal film features nothing but driving scenes shot in exotic locations, such as Rio de Janeiro, Iceland and Hong Kong that showcase the MINI. Basically, the Coupe is like a compact GT car - the perfect companion for your adventurous needs.

The reveal film is done in the style of a movie trailer, as it actually previews three new commercials set to air from September onward. Cesar Charlone, the Oscar-nominated cameraman behind “City of God”, put his mark on the Rio portion of the video.

We’ll remind you that the MINI Coupe is offered in four flavors. Three petrol versions come in the form of 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines, with outputs ranging from 122 hp for the base model to 211 for the JCW. There’s also a 2.0-liter diesel available in the SD.

This is the first Mini to be built with a "three-box" design concept, which means the body, wraparound glass and roof are three boxes built upon a horizontal plane. The main change over the Cooper hatchback is the introduction of that bubbled-up roof and the addition of a retractable wing at the back.
