The MINI brand is currently in an aggressive development process with the company pushing hard to strengthen its market position. As part of this plan, MINI has introduced the Countryman crossover, which will also be entered in the World Rally Championship, marking MINI’s return to the series.

So, we have the brand’s first ever four wheel drive vehicle - some of the the car’s versions are available with an optional AWD system. However, it seems that MINI is now asking us to look at the other end of the traction scale, as it is introducing a one-wheel drive vehicle.

Earlier today, MINI used its Facebook page to announce that it will be introducing an electric scooter at the upcoming Paris Auto Show.

The British company didn’t offer any additional details about the two-wheeler, but released a set of sketches that give us an idea of what it will look like.

Ever seen a MINI on two wheels? Be the first to see an electric vision of the future as urban mobility by MINI takes a new direction. Keep your eyes open for the world premiere at the Paris Motor Show 2010,” stated the Facebook description.

The move comes after smart announced in July that it will bring an electric scooter to Paris.

Our say: We can’t help answering MINI’s question -Yes, we’ve actually seen multiple MINIs on two wheels, with the cars being handled by stunt drivers. But we’re interested in your electric scooter anyway, so bring it on!

autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Paris Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.

Update: smart also introduced a set of sketches previewing its electric scooter.
