Michelin of North America has just announced the introduction of a special and sporty all-season tire, which is part of the Pilot family of tires. It is called the Pilot Sport A/S, and it offers drivers excellent performance in a variety of weather conditions, both wet and dry, while also being very safe, courtesy of a new tread design.
Doug Brown, ultra-high performance category manager at Michelin North America said: "As an all-weather, all-season tire, the MICHELIN Pilot Sport A/S 3 marries performance and practicality [ . . . ] This tire is ideal for someone who wants to optimize the performance of his or her vehicle and drive with confidence year-round."
The Pilot Sport A/S 3 features an aggressive and asymmetrical tread pattern, which bears some resemblance to the Pilot Super Sport, one of their high-end tires, and it also features their Variable Contact Patch 2.0 technology, which further aids with both traction and durability. The rubber compound itself, called Helio Compound, features high amounts of silica, which combined with Variable Thickness Sipes further aids both wet and dry traction.
