Several reports on various channels are currently pouring in, claiming that the 7-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher was injured earlier today while skiing in the French Alps. According to radio station Europe 1, quoted by French publication L’Equipe, the German sustained head injuries after crashing on a ski slope.
Apparently he was practicing the winter sport somewhere near the Meribel resort and following his trauma he was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Grenoble, without losing his consciousness. The director of the ski resort where everything happened was quoted as saying only “I don’t know the severity of the injury” despite many publications using the word ‘serious’.
Unfortunately, at the moment, we don’t have any more information but Schumacher was very well known as a ski enthusiast, even owning a villa in the area where he usually practices. We’ll keep you posted as we get more info on the matter.
