Surprisingly or not, the demise of Michael Jackson, the man referred to, during the memorial held last night in LA's Staple Center, as the "greatest entertainer who ever lived", failed to create the marketing frenzy usually associated with a high-profile event.
Flowers, clothes, drinks and cars, they all had to come from somewhere. All those providing something for the ceremonies held yesterday, or at least most of them, have kept it to themselves, and didn't advertise their inclusion in the memorial.
Yet, since we're living in the information age, even if you say nothing, somebody will surely find out everything. When it comes to celebrities, paparazzi are those in charge with finding out all there is to now about them.
In Michael Jackson's case, among million other things which will surely surface in the following days, as the echos of the memorial fade away, one of the first "sideline" piece of information to become public is the one about the pop-icon's motorcade and who provided the cars.
According to TMZ.com, the motorcade was made up by vehicles coming from Land Rover Encino, a California based Land Rover dealer, as well as from Rolls Royce dealer O'Gara Coach Company. TMZ says the vehicles were provided free-of-charge to the Jackson family and have been returned last night.
To get an idea on how much the ceremony and the importance of the event impacted those involved, when contacted by Inside Line, Land Rover Encino refused to comment whether they are the ones who provided the vehicles for the motorcade. Needless to say, under normal circumstances, they would have been screaming to say yes.
